Barb Fox-Amann

Barbara “Barb” J. Fox-Amann joined her best friend Tom on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the age of 53 years.

Barb was born on June 3, 1960 in Milwaukee to Joseph and Gertrude (nee Mutz) Fox.  She was a graduate of Menomonee Falls North High School, Class of 1978, where she was a great sports enthusiast.  She continued this love of sports throughout the years and, later on, through her children.

She married Thomas “Tom” Amann on February 16, 1985.  In 1988, she welcomed her daughter Emily, and in 1994, their son, Ben, completed the family.  They created a loving home that was always closely tied to Big Cedar Lake.  Many of the family memories were created here.

Barb was a librarian in the Slinger School District for over 20 years.  She impacted so many children over the years through her caring and loving personality.  She was an amazing friend and colleague.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, and spending time on the lake.  Rarely would you find her indoors on a summer day!  She also loved collecting and displaying her unique finds.

Barb will be deeply missed by her loving children Emily and Ben.  She is beloved daughter to Joe and Gertie Fox; and cherished sister to Pat (David Schindler) Fox and Joe (Carol) Fox.  Barb will also be missed by the entire Amann side, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.  Barb is preceded in death by her husband Tom and sister-in-law Bobbi Newman.

A Memorial Service for Barb will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. in West Bend.  Gathering will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 2:15 PM.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Pam Konrath for her continued support and the Cedar Lake Hills neighborhood and Slinger School District for their care and compassion during this time.

Memorials are appreciated to the children.  Please make checks payable to Amann Children's Fund.
