I have a large bay window that faces the south, which I refer to as the "box elder hotel,"Read More and rather than pollute the inside of our home with pesticides, I just vacuum the little buggers up a couple of times a day. No big deal, no expense other than electricity, and no unnecessary harmful pesticides inside or outside our home.

For these outside critters that like to come inside at different times of the year exclusion, likeRead More screens and keeping doors shut, is important but not always practical. So an insecticide can be used on the exterior of the building especially around windows, doors, utility pipes that penetrate the building, and anywhere that these insects can gain entry into the structure. You will also want to treat 3 to 4 feet wide band around the foundation. Be sure to avoid drift of the spray onto your skin and clothing. Lastly, be sure to read the product label before buying. Some over-the-counter products are ready to use and some require mixing into a one or two gallon hand held sprayer. You can get advice from your local home improvement store on what products work best.
