Who Is Making a Difference in Menomonee Falls?
Whether its a neighbor that fed your dog while you were out on Spring Break, or a friend that gives their time to help out at a soup kitchen on the weekend, share their stories in the comments section and spread the good news.
People in Menomonee Falls are doing meaningful things every day, and we think it's time the rest of the community hears about these good deeds.
Whether they are volunteering their time with a local organization or quietly helping out a friend or neighbor, we would like you to recognize a local do-gooder in the comments section of this article.
We may want to interview and write about the person that you mention for our "Greatest Person" feature with their permission. Even if we don't write a news story, you can give that person their five minutes of fame by telling their story here for other community members to read.
So, go ahead, tell us who deserves a little recognition because, in the words of Collier Graham:
"The influence of a beautiful, helpful character is contagious, and may revolutionize a whole town."

I think our garbage man Eric does an amazing job in the community. I was just talking to my almost 90 year old neighbor about how Eric helps him carry his heavy garbage bags down to the road. He also carries the garbage can to the garage of our 90+ year old neighbor. I have witnessed on extra windy days times when Eric places the garbage cans higher in the yards so they don't blow into the road. He will always wave to the kids. I think he does a great job in our community. He helps those that need help and goes the extra mile which is what we all want. I am sure he does so much more that doesn't get noticed. He is definitely doing his job and more to help people not for the 'glory'. Kudos to Eric!

Thanks Jacqui, Eric sounds very interesting and I'd be interested in finding a way to track him down.

He is our garbage man too, and he always goes the extra mile for us as well. After all the flooding two summers ago, he lifted all the soggy, heavy debris into the garbage truck. I've seen him backtrack in order to get papers/magazines or other garbage that flies away. He always waves to the kids in our neighborhood too. Great suggestion Jacqui and I "second" your nomination!!!

Susan J, is our volunteer coordinator at Lost Dogs of Wisconsin. She lives in Menomonee Falls. She does an amazing job of recruiting and coordinating our volunteers (almost 50). She does this in her free time, as well as doing volunteering and fostering jobs for other animal welfare groups in Wisconsin. She has helped us grow into a successful non-profit, all volunteer organization that have helped hundreds of dogs get back home where they belong.

@ Kathy - can you send over contact information? I would like to write a story about her work with the organization.
