Falls Pub & Grill Offers Casual, Northwoods Atmosphere

The former location of Rich's Steakhouse has been completely transformed, and is open for the big Packers game Saturday.

Menomonee Falls Packers fans have a new place to watch the big playoff matchup against the 49ers Saturday - and really all big sporting matchups into the future.

Falls Pub & Grill, N80W13003 Fond Du Lac Ave., opened last week to a packed house for the first round of the playoffs. Owners Robert Placke and Jenny Kleczka both know how to celebrate the green and gold tradition. Placke said they offer free wings and pizza at halftime, hold raffles, and have a host of other giveaways for every game.

“We had a great crowd for the Packer game last week. It fits with our great new sound system here for the games,” Placke said.

Placke and Kleczka opened Falls Pub in the former location of Rich’s Steakhouse. In just over two months, they completely renovated the interior and exterior of the business. The place even smells brand new.

"We've got a Northwoods, cabin atmosphere here," Placke said. "It's a laid back place where you can let your hair down."

Patrons will immediately notice the expansive outdoor concrete patio, complete with a wheelchair ramp, when they walk up to Falls Pub. Plans are in place to construct a heated smoking room in front of the bar as well. By spring, the parking lot will also be paved.

“We really want to turn this place completely around,” said Kleczka, who’s essentially the face of Falls Pub as the lead bartender. Placke is admittedly the behind-the-scenes guy cooking the food in the kitchen.

Falls Pub offers a traditional American pub menu with pizza, steak, burgers, fish fry, and prime rib. Items on the menu range from $7 for a sandwich to $18.95 for a 16-ounce prime rib. Specials include Taco Tuesdays, Wing Night, and the essential Friday Fish Fry.

Kleczka said they also offer a variety of drink specials, and Happy Hour is $1 off every drink from 4-7 p.m. daily. They also plan to host live music and karaoke.

Placke has logged 25 years in the bar and restaurant business. He currently is part-owner at Scott E’s pub in Greenfield.

“I opened up here because the location is great. I was impressed by how many people lived up and down this street,” Placke said. “We’ve also been impressed by how nice everyone is that stops in here.”

If you’re looking for a new place to enjoy your favorite sporting events, give Falls Pub a try. They are open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., and the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. From Friday through Sunday, Falls Pub is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and the kitchen closes at 10 p.m.
