Demonstrators Gather Outside Sen. Darling's Office

More than 100 people voice their support of a recall of Sen. Alberta Darling Wednesday.

The office of State Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) on Wednesday became the target of a large demonstration for the second time in as many months.

More than 100 demonstrators wielding megaphones, signs, drums and their voices formed a line along the sidewalk in front of her office at N88W16621 Appleton Ave.

Recall petitioners were also present in the crowd, and were gathering signatures. Some motrists pulled over and signed a petition from their car. Petitioners will need to gather more than 20,000 signatures before May 2 to force a recall election.

Two suporters of Darling joined the fray on Wednesday and wielded their own signs of support. There were a few verbal sparring matches between Darling supporters and recall supporters on the sidewalks.

Last month, Menomonee Falls in opposition to Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
